I finished a really great book called "The Candy Shop War" by Brandon Mull. It was thick but it was worth it. It's about four kids named Nate, Summer, Trevor and Pigeon. They meet a lady named Mrs. White who just opened The Sweet Tooth an ice cream and candy shoppe. I loved it. I think that one thing the kids had to do was decide who to trust. I liked Nate because he always did things for Mrs. White (who they later find out is evil). Summer almost always did what was right but she did do two things I think she knew she shouldn't do. Pigeon and Trevor were good and loyal friends because they stayed close.
One of my favorite parts was when Nate, Summer and Pigeon meet their substitute teacher who is trying to get a treasure so that does not fall into evil hands.
